Education WAH sites?
my husband is a teacher and would like to cut back to working part time. I saw a few links for on-line tutors. Does anyone have any recommendations or comments for us? I am new to this site and any and all responses will be welcome!

Re: Education WAH sites?
This is my second year working with Brainfuse - I really love the company - always pay on time - never had any problems with them and my students are all very pleasant - it also seems that there a lot more sessions available this year than there were last year - i'm up to 20 scheduled students a week plus an average of at least 3 subs I take each week

Re: Education WAH sites?
I work through Tutor.com - I can currently schedule 40 hrs/week, no "set" students, just hop in and get any age/grade from 4th up to college. I really enjoy it and can work around my kiddo and my AA CSR position (my "other" job)

Many WAH moms work for Brainfuse and Tutor.com

Re: Education WAH sites?
Do you have to have any teaching or tutoring experience to apply?
Also, is it basically sitting at the computer and showing/teaching students a lesson in a particular subject? |

Re: Education WAH sites?
As I said, my husband is a teacher currently. He has been teaching for 8 years but for various reasons, including a special needs child, he would like to cut back to part time work. We actually have a child enrolled in Connections Academy, which is a public school program which is delivered online. He would love to work for them, but you generally need to live near the main office for your states' program which is about 5 hours away from where we live. His current job requires him to commute a considerable distance each day on dangerous roads and keeps him away from his family most of the day. We are looking into all the sites that have been suggested so far.

With Brainfuse, you do have a specified subject to teach with the students, however, if it's a student that I have for both math and reading we do switch it up from time to time if the student has a test coming up and needs to brush up on certain skills.

Re: Education WAH sites?
I have taken courses from them and the instructors are great. You can also recommend classes and if they're approved then you can teach them or they will find an instructor to teach it.
