Tips to promote fast...
Hi there,
I made up a quick list of tips to give to my guides that might help them zip through their training and promote to master as quickly as possible and thought I'd share.
I'd love some feedback on them. If you have suggestions or anything to add, please feel free to let me know as I'm still fine-tuning things
Now that I have all my guides signed up, I wanted to give you some tips for promoting as quickly as possible. The quicker you get through training and promote to pro and then eventually to master, the quicker you will make money with ChaCha.
Once you promote to Pro, you will start earning money with each search. Once you promote to Master, you will not only make money searching, but you will also start to receive trainings where you will actually get paid to sit there and train a new guide, so you double your opportunities to make money at the Master level.
Of course, we all know that when we promote to Elite, you start to earn double so $10/hr…that is certainly incentive for me lol.
To facilitate you in your quest for some ChaCha cash, I made up a little list of tips that might help you score a “great!” on each search.
- Make sure your first keywords are “jobs, golf, and music.” For some reason, this ensures that you will get trained as quickly as possible and is recommended by ChaCha.
- When you are training, don’t be afraid to ask questions if you are having a problem with the application or are having trouble finding something. We’ve all been there
. - Greet your user warmly and ask them a question about what they are searching for using their search terms such as “What would you like to know about jobs?” vs. “What can I help you with?”
- If it is taking you more than 30 seconds to find something, check back with the user and let them know that you are still searching so they don’t think they’ve lost you.
- When you find a good resource, make sure you highlight a portion of the page that refers specifically to what they have asked about. Someone may ask “Who caused McCarthy’s downfall?” Instead of highlighting random text on a huge wikipedia entry about McCarthy, find the sentence that refers to who brought McCarthy down, highlight that and then click “add result.” That way, when they get the link, they will see a snippet of text that pertains to their specific inquiry.
- After sending a link, go to the chat window and give then a quick bit of info about that particular website/resource. If they have asked if Ibizan Hounds are good with children and cats and the first link only refers to children, maybe say “That resource has some good information about this dog’s temperament with children, give me just a moment while I search for some information about how they relate to cats.” Search for a resource that might specifically comment on their relation to cats by refining your search (using google or some other search engine), highlight a sentence where it is discussing how they interact with cats and then click “add result.” Go to the chat window and maybe say “There is another great resource with specific information about how this type of dog relates to cats.” I think this type of interaction is what will make the ChaCha experience all the more novel and valuable to the user because it reminds them that there is a human being on the other end assisting them and pointing out the benefits to one site over another.
- Always share at least 3 resources (if available) before checking to see if the results are sufficient. Make sure you give them a choice of results, even if they may be somewhat redundant so that that they can choose which resource will best suit their needs. If they aren’t happy with the results, probe some more to see how you might narrow down your search to find the best results.
- Satisfied their needs? Ask if there is anything else you can do for them. If so, continue to search using the previous tips until they tell you they are completely satisfied.
- Thank them warmly for choosing ChaCha and invite them back!!
