Legit transcription company?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for legit transcriptionist postitions that do NOT require prior experience or special equipment.

I found a site online for a company named Accentance. It sounds pretty good, except there is a charge per download for each audio file, which sounds fishy to me...

I just wondered if anyone has worked for them or knows if this is a legit company?

Is this what you mean when you say charge per download, "Apart from the per-word rate, there is also a download payment. For files up to 1 MB in size, the payment is $. 1-5 MB in size, it is $2; for 5-10 MB files the pay is $4, for files over 10 MB the payment is $6."

I think you've got it a little backwards... to me they are saying they will pay you said amount for downloading the file. I may be wrong though, I've never dealt with this company or any other transcription company.

That's the way it sounds to me as well because some of the bigger files can take a good 15 to 20 minutes or more to download.

It sounds like you get a bit of a bonus for the time you're sitting there waiting.

Oh, I think you may be right. I guess I didn't read that right

It makes sense the way you explained, though. I guess I will have to just check w/ the company to be sure.
