West Phone Policy

West previously required a corded phone for use with almost all lines. More recently, new agents have been told by some P*LS that corded was still required, while others were told the cordless was fine. Needless to say, this has caused a lot of confusion and debate.

The official word from Contractor Support today (2/27/06) is that cordless phones are now OK for all West lines. This should make it much easier for agents to find a reasonably priced headset compatible phone. It was mentioned that cell phones are not permitted and that agents need to be aware of battery life on their cordless phones when working.

If you are a new agent who is still being told that a corded phone is required, please ask to speak to a supervisor or contact contractor support through the support page.
